Execution Consultants designed and launched a production-grade payments platform for Hailstorm Talent, supporting union and non-union commercial productions where payroll accuracy and operational continuity are critical.

The Context

Hailstorm operates in an environment where software directly impacts revenue, payroll execution, and contractual compliance.

Commercial productions move quickly. Union requirements are precise. Payment errors carry consequences.

The existing process landscape was fragmented and difficult to scale. The objective was to build a unified system aligned with real production demands.

The Constraints

This project operated under significant operational and financial constraints that required precision, reliability, and careful coordination across teams. Any disruption would have had immediate downstream impact.

  • Complex union payroll requirements

  • Multi-stakeholder production workflows

  • Time-sensitive approvals and payments

  • Zero tolerance for instability during rollout

This was a revenue-critical system.

Execution Approach

Reliability was engineered into the foundation, not layered on later.

  • Core boundaries were defined early: centralized payroll engine, embedded compliance logic, structured approvals, payment orchestration, and audit visibility.

  • Payment validation, union edge cases, permissions, and reconciliation controls were addressed before broad production exposure.

  • The platform was introduced progressively to validate behavior under real load while preserving business continuity.

Production Lifecycle Architecture

The platform unifies the full production workflow — from onboarding through residuals and project wrap — supported by shared infrastructure responsible for payroll, compliance, approvals, payment processing, reporting, and monitoring.

Payroll and compliance are embedded within the operational core, not treated as external processes.

Operational Shift

Before

  • Fragmented documents and workflows

  • Manual coordination

  • Isolated payroll handling

After

  • Unified production lifecycle platform

  • Centralized payroll and compliance logic

  • Structured approval and payment orchestration

  • System-wide visibility and reconciliation controls

Outcome

The platform is live and actively supporting production payroll and project workflows.

  • Centralized payments infrastructure

  • Integrated compliance logic

  • Reduced operational fragility

  • A durable foundation for growth

The result is a system designed for scale and operational calm.

When the System Matters

If your platform directly impacts revenue, payments, or operational continuity, we can assess whether it is structured for real-world conditions.
